Dr. Alam earned his medical degree and graduated with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston. He completed his internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Alam went on to complete his pulmonology and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio.
Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine, Dr. Alam is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the Texas Medical Association, the American Thoracic Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
