Dr. Hollingsworth joined Texas Pulmonary & Critical Care Consultants in August 2015.

John W. Hollingsworth MD FCCP was both born and raised in Houston, Texas. He attended undergraduate at Colorado College. He returned to Texas to attend Medical School, Residency, and Chief Residency at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He continued his training as a Fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He then joined the faculty at Duke. As a junior faculty, his training included service as a Visiting Scientist at a branch of the National Institute of Health, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Dr. Hollingsworth remained full-time faculty at Duke University Medical Center for approximately a decade achieving the academic rank of Associate Professor with tenure. He then continued his career at the Ohio State University as a Professor of Medicine with tenure. He joined the faculty at TCU Burnett School of Medicine in 2020 as a Professor of Medicine. He serves both as a Clerkship Director for Critical Care Medicine for TCU medical students and as the Director of Subspecialty Education for Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine within the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital. Dr. Hollingsworth contributed to more than 50 original scientific publications, served on multiple peer review panels for the National Institute of Health, served on the editorial board of several scientific journals, and edited a book on environmental health. Dr. Hollingsworth has consistently recognized for excellence in clinical practice, contributions to medical education, and dedicated efforts to advance health-related science. Dr. Hollingsworth currently serves as the Medical Director of Critical Care at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital. Clinical practice (patient care) has consistently provided the foundation for all aspects of his professional career. He has been caring for patients since 1996. Dr. Hollingsworth continues to focus his professional endeavors on providing superior individualized care for each of his patients as a member of the clinical team at Texas Pulmonary & Critical Care Consultants.
